Intersun - A Space Role-Playing and Conquest Game
To sum it all up: Scifi, Borderlands, Guns, Spaceships, the Milky Way. A role playing game which allows you to travel between the stars.
You will be able to own, buy and use weapons of all types from a large array of corporations (very similar to the "Borderlands" series), ranging from knives, pistols, and rifles, to massive missile launchers and heavy calibre machineguns and sniper rifles. You can also create a corporation (will be unrelated to your role-play character, however it will allow you to receive extras through out gameplay). Do not think it ends there. Your character will be able to buy spacecraft when time comes, ranging from small space interceptors all the way to capital warships and mining ships. Check it out!
Timeline:
2054: UT forces invade all of the UK territories in what comes to be known as the 5th Slavic War. About 200 million people, including civilians, died directly or indirectly as a result of this war.
2059: The 5th Slavic War ends with both sides retreating into respective territories. This was the last of the five, and another world war would not happen. Unfortunately, the next massive war would be far deadlier.
2060: Anti-gravity systems are being perfected during this time.
2064: The new “Atlantia” class spacecraft are finished, consisting of two operated by the UT and one operated by the UK.
2069: World peace finally descends onto Earth in the same year that the first permanent self-sustaining Mars colony is launched as a collaboration project between the Canadians, UT and the UK super empires.
2074: The first act of space terrorism - a space tug hijacked and an asteroid flung down into Earth’s atmosphere. Fortunately, it was stopped by orbital defenses.
2079: A massive spaceship is constructed and sent to Jupiter’s atmosphere to siphon and analyse Jupiter gases. Also, the farthest manned trip from Earth.
2090: The relic spacecraft's FTL drive is finally extracted and fixed. At this time, numerous corporations begin designing spacecraft, capable of entering the atmosphere.
2095: A massive boom in space travel and trade as Mars is finally declared done terraforming by the UT.
2096: The “Titanus”, a 24 kilometer long colony ship that began construction in 2028, is finally done as a joint project by the UT, UK, NOK, and the Canadians. It is the first spacecraft to be equipped with an FTL drive.
2097: TREX and the countries that make it up finally fall apart. NOK controls Africa and southern Europe, UT controls all of Asia, Australia and Alaska, Candians (CAF) controls all of North America (except for Alaska) and the UK controls South America, South Asian islands, Atlantic and Pacific Islands. Nearly no territories on Earth are not controlled by a super empire.
2098: The Titanus is launched to Alpha Centauri. A habitable planet there is settled.
2100: The FTL drive is finally finished and available for mass production.
2105: A loose Dyson Bubble is completed around Earth.
2156: Many solar systems are colonized now. Colonies are controlled by one of the four super empires on Earth. Interplanetary travel is now very very common, similar to taking a plane now.
2260: Earth is now a supercity. Visible from space, it looks as it does now, only now most land is all green with massive orange rings and circles each at least the size of Germany dotting both the water and land. These are super cities. A Dyson sphere around the Solar System is nearing completion, and humanity is now a Type II civilization on the Kardashev scale.
2460: Venus and Mars are now nearly identical to Earth condition-wise and appearance-wise. Many other planets are also being made into small heavens like Sol’s planets.
2512: The Collision event occurs. The most horrific and devastating events in human history up to 2512, in which a super nuclear weapon is detonated inside a colony planet completely by accident. More than twelve billion humans die. No one remembers the colony's name, but what it caused was tremendous - a war slowly escalates to the point of total multi-galactic war due to the many secret alliances created hundreds of years earlier.
The war rages for centuries until 2912, the year also known as the year of the Intersun event. During this time, technology evolves at an extremely slow pace as a lot of colonies are struggling to survive.
2912: Of course, the war didn't just immediately halt. It slowly calmed down for the last century. However, 2912 was the first time an official peace treaty was signed...
2913: This turning point in humanity's history is known as the "Intersun Event". The known universe is filled with corporations that grew due to the profits of war - and an explosion of travellers appear due to the new-found safety in traveling between the stars.
